About University Hospital
University Hospital serves as the flagship hospital of University of Missouri Health Care, offering the only Level I trauma center and helicopter service in central Missouri. Located on the MU campus, the hospital opened its doors in 1956 with the goal of bringing previously unavailable advanced medical care to rural Missourians. Today, the 233-bed hospital offers a wide spectrum of services, from specialty care in outpatient clinics to advanced critical care in the hospital's three-story addition, which was dedicated in 2000.
