Make an impact on health care
We strive to provide patient-and-family-centered care and promote a culture in which our patients and families are partners in their care. We want to see our hospitals and clinics through the eyes of patients, their families and friends, which is why we created the Patient and Family Partnership.
The Patient and Family Partnership engages patients and families as partners to shape policies, programs, facility design and day-to-day health care interactions at MU Health Care. Our faculty and staff listen with care and seek to understand the needs of patients and their families. Our four guiding principles - respect, share, engage and partner - are central to our patient-and-family-centered care.
Patients or family members of patients who have received or are currently receiving care at MU Health Care are eligible to participate in the Patient and Family Partnership.
Patient and Family Partnership Opportunities
Patient-and-Family Advisory Council
Serve on the group that guides the Patient and Family Partnership.
Review and evaluate MU Health Care policies to assure the best possible care for patients and families.
Serve on committees, task forces and quality initiatives. Topics will vary.
Read patient education materials and provide feedback on their clarity and usefulness.
Educate medical students, faculty and staff about how to better communicate with patients and families.
Provide feedback on providing a safe, welcoming and supportive health care environment.
