Urgent Care versus Emergency Room Urgent Care is designed to complement your primary care physician or pediatrician by providing services when those doctors' offices are typically closed. Children's Hospital Urgent Care is designed for treatment of illnesses and injuries for which your child would normally receive care at his or her doctor's office. We offer this "after hours" service as a convenience to you. If your child's illness or injury requires it, we will direct you to the Emergency Room at Children's Hospital.
