The melanoma and skin cancer program at Ellis Fischel Cancer Center serves as a regional treatment center for skin and melanoma cancers. Through screening, diagnosis, staging, treatment and long-term follow up, the multispecialty team of physicians and health care providers are able to provide individualized treatment plans and comprehensive care, as well as access to the most advanced treatments possible.

If a spot is concerning as Dr. Golda mentioned seeing a Surgical Oncologist is the next step to help in removing and testing the spot to find the right treatment option. Dr. Nicholl explains what happens after a dermatologist finds a concerning spot.

After a Surgical Oncologist removes a concerning spots and testing is conducted to see if any of the cancer has spread. A Medical Oncologist would take over in managing the treatment options if surgery did not remove all of the cancerous cells. Dr. Hossian explains the different treatment options available.
