The Children's Miracle Network raised $241,425 to support University of Missouri Health Care's Children's Hospital during the two-day Missouri Credit Union Miracles for Kids Radiothon on March 1 and 2.
"We truly appreciate the support Children's Hospital received during our radiothon," said Laura Gajda, MU Health Care's executive director for advancement. "The dedicated people at Children's Hospital make it their calling to improve the lives of Missouri kids. We are all so grateful to have the generous support of so many members of our community. Their support makes it possible for Children's Hospital to fulfill our mission."
Gajda thanked Zimmer Radio Group, which broadcast the fundraiser on each of its stations: 93.9-FM The Eagle, 94.3-FM KAT Country, 99.3-FM Clear 99 and 106.9-FM Y107. Approximately 100 volunteers assisted with the radiothon. Volunteers included community members, business representatives, family members of patients and numerous MU Health Care employees.
Money raised from the radiothon will be used to purchase new equipment, fund facility improvements, and for program additions and expansions at Children's Hospital.
The radiothon was presented by Zimmer Radio Group and the Missouri Credit Union.
