Anesthesiology
Anesthesiologists with University of Missouri Health Care provide clinical anesthesia to neonates through adults for surgical procedures of all degrees of complexity. Anesthesia for high-risk obstetrics is available 24 hours a day. Other services and procedures include:
- Obstetrical epidural anesthesia available on a 24-hour basis. Safety monitoring is enhanced with capnography and pulse oximeters. Patient-controlled analgesia, postoperative epidural narcotics and local anesthetics are available
- Consultation, diagnostic and therapeutic blocks and long-term infusion techniques, which are provided for patients with pain problems
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy for a variety of disorders, including poor wound healing, chronic infections and carbon monoxide poisoning.
