Office Hours and Location
The Cosmopolitan International Diabetes Center is open from 7:45 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday through Friday; patient appointments are scheduled from 7:45 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. The center is located in the main lobby of the University of Missouri Hospital and Clinics complex at One Hospital Drive (see map link for directions). Patients may park in the visitor parking garage on the east end of the hospital complex. The center is just inside the hospital concourse on the green level.
For a clinic appointment, patients may call (573) 882-3818. Patients do not have to have a physician's referral to make an appointment unless it is required by the patient's insurance company or managed care plan. Clinic staff members appreciate 48 hours notice if a patient must cancel an appointment.

What To Do After Hours
If a patient has an urgent need to speak with a physician after clinic hours, call the University Hospital operator at (573) 882-4141 and ask for the Endocrine Consult Service.
Most patients ask for prescription refills at the time of their regularly scheduled clinic appointment. However, if the patient will run out of medication before the next scheduled appointment, he or she may call (573) 882-3818 and request a prescription refill.
Billing and Insurance
Patients must bring their insurance card to each clinic visit. Care received from physicians and the hospital during office visits will be billed by University Physicians. Inpatient hospital charges will be billed by University Hospital.
As a courtesy to our patients, we will file insurance claims for physician and hospital services if we have accurate and complete insurance information. We are a participating provider with Medicare, so we accept assignment on all Medicare claims. We also accept Medicaid patients. Those patients wanting to pay at the time of the visit should inform clinic staff at the beginning of their visit. The clinic accepts cash, checks, and VISA and MasterCard, and staff members are happy to help patients set up payment plans.
