University of Missouri Health Care and University Physicians comply with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act of 2003 (FACTA), also known as the Identity Theft Red Flags and Notices of Address Discrepancy or “Red Flag Rules.” The rules require all organizations subject to the legislation to develop and implement a formal, written and revisable identity theft prevention program to detect, prevent and mitigate identity theft.

To comply with this regulation, MU Health Care and University Physicians have established new practices to help deter, detect and mitigate identity theft issues. Providing your photo identification upon arrival is one of those practices.
