Martial Arts Board “Breakathon” To Benefit Children's Hospital
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Hockman’s ATA Martial Arts is teaming up with University of Missouri Health Care to help fund a new nursing station for MU Children’s Hospital’s pediatric short-stay unit.
A martial arts board “breakathon” will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at all three Columbia Hockman’s ATA Martial Arts locations as well as the Mexico, Mo., location.
Participating Hockman students raised a minimum of $10 each through donations to take part in the event. More than 100 students from all four Hockman centers will break 1,000 boards at each location.
T.J., MU Children’s Hospital’s mascot, will be on hand from 6 to 7 p.m. at Hockman’s Columbia south location at 112 Corporate Lake Drive.
The event is part of Hockman’s ATA Martial Arts commitment to raising funds for MU Children’s Hospital over the next five years.
