COLUMBIA, Mo. — The American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) has recognized MU Health Care’s Missouri Digestive Health Center with the ASGE Endoscopy Unit Quality Recognition Award.
The award recognizes endoscopy centers that promote quality and safety in accordance with ASGE guidelines.
This is the first time MU Health Care has received the ASGE award.
“This award signifies that MU Health Care is adhering to the highest standards when it comes to endoscopy care at the Missouri Digestive Health Center,” said Jamal Ibdah, M.D., Ph.D., director of the Missouri Digestive Health Center at MU Health Care. “Our patients can take assurance in the fact that we are now recognized nationally for our high quality care.”
The Missouri Digestive Health Center provides patients with a comprehensive array of gastrointestinal services from preventive screenings to minimally invasive surgery options. Patients seeking routine procedures can visit the center’s outpatient facility located at University Physicians – Fairview Clinic at 101 S. Fairview Road in Columbia. For patients requiring advanced endoscopy procedures and minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgery, a team of minimally invasive gastroenterologists and surgeons uses the most advanced minimally invasive techniques to treat all types of gastrointestinal and other general surgery-related illnesses at University Hospital’s Endoscopy Center.
