COLUMBIA, Mo. ― Gregory J. Della Rocca, M.D., Ph.D., co-director of orthopaedic trauma services at University of Missouri Health Care and associate professor of orthopaedic surgery at the MU School of Medicine, has been selected by the American Orthopaedic Association (AOA) for its 2013 American-British-Canadian (ABC) Traveling Fellowship.
The ABC fellowship is a prestigious and highly competitive honor awarded to leaders in the field of orthopaedic surgery. ABC fellows are chosen every two years and travel to various academic institutions in the United Kingdom and South Africa. As an ABC fellow, Della Rocca will present research and act as an international ambassador for the AOA. He also will learn about health care and research in both host countries.
Della Rocca is the first ABC fellowship recipient from the MU Health System. He also was an AOA North American Traveling Fellow in 2009.
