Missouri Orthopaedic Institute to Host Seminar on Shoulder Replacement
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute will host a free seminar about shoulder joint replacements from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, in the institute’s fourth floor conference room at 1100 Virginia Ave. in Columbia.

The seminar, “Knowledge Now: Raise Your Hands: The Joy of Full Range of Motion Through Shoulder Replacement,” will be presented by shoulder specialist Matt Smith, M.D., an MU Health Care orthopaedic surgeon and assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the MU School of Medicine. Smith will discuss non-operative treatments for shoulder pain, options for types of shoulder joint replacement, and information about what to expect for rehabilitation, recovery time and improvements from shoulder replacement.
