Coach Pinkel, Coach Anderson participate in Mizzou Spirit Day; visit patients at Children's Hospital
COLUMBIA, Mo. — University of Missouri head football coach Gary Pinkel and head basketball coach Mike Anderson were among the special guests joining University of Missouri Health Care faculty, staff, students, patients and visitors at Mizzou Spirit Day on Thursday, Oct. 15.
A spirit rally in support of the Tigers was held in the main lobby of University Hospital. Following the event, Pinkel and Anderson visited patients at MU’s Children’s Hospital.
Joining Pinkel and Anderson at the spirit rally were MU sports announcer Gary Link, the MU Cheerleaders and Golden Girls, members of Marching Mizzou, Truman the Tiger and T.J., the Children’s Hospital mascot.
Mizzou Spirit Day is sponsored by MU Health Care’s Art in Health Care program.
“Many of our patients, their families and our hospital staff enjoy cheering on the Tigers, but they are unable to attend sporting events, so we wanted to bring some of that Mizzou spirit to them,” said Sandy Scotten, director of MU Health Care’s Art in Health Care program.
