Ortho: Trauma
When can I go back to work?
Returning to work depends a lot on what kinds of injuries you have and what kind of work you do. Some jobs require that you return to work with NO restrictions, and if that is the case with your job we are happy to provide information at each clinic appointment to support where you are in the healing process, and an estimate of when you will return to work. If you work at a job that will allow for you to go back with restrictions, then we will provide paperwork for you to take explaining what you can and cannot do. Returning to work is very much employer-dependant and they will provide you with the information you need to know when you are going to be able to return. If there are any questions, we will order a functional capacity test with physical therapy and they will be able to tell us and your employer exactly what you can and cannot do. Returning to work is important to both you and us, since it signifies that you are improving and returning to your normal activities. We address this issue at each appointment.
