Art in Health Care, School of Health Professions join local theatre group with powerful message about tolerance and living with cancer
Art in Health Care, a program of University of Missouri Health Care, and the MU School of Health Professions are among the sponsors joining with the local PACE children’s theatre group to present Zink: the Myth, the Legend, the Zebra.
“Zink” is based on a story written by an 11-year-old leukemia victim and tells of a young girl named Becky who just wants to be accepted as she heroically fights cancer. Teamed with some zany guardian angel zebras from the plains of Africa, Becky learns about a mythical polka dotted zebra named Zink. Along her journey Becky learns the meaning of courage and the audience hears the message of acceptance. This is the premier performance in PACE’s new Arts in Health series in which one performance each year will carry a health theme.
Performances are scheduled m for 7 p.m. on January 18 and 19 and 2 p.m. on January 20 in Jesse Hall Auditorium. Tickets are $7.
