General Pediatrics Unit at Children's Hospital

This is a 29-bed unit specially designed for medical and surgical pediatric patients. It has a schoolroom and a playroom that lets kids be kids. Children's Hospital is the only mid-Missouri hospital to employ a full-time teacher from the Columbia Public School District to help young patients keep up with their schoolwork. Child life therapists help children understand and cope with their hospitalization by engaging them in medical play.
