Inpatient Consultations

The dermatology department provides a consultation service for all inpatients in University Hospital, Ellis Fischel Cancer Wing, Veterans Hospital, Mid-Missouri Mental Health Hospital, and Health South Rehabilitation Center. Prompt consultations provide the consulting team with the most accurate diagnosis and treatment.

Outpatient Consultations

In addition to patients who are currently admitted to our hospital system, the dermatology department provides a consultation service to all outpatient clinics including general medical specialty clinics, pediatric and neonatal clinics, surgical specialty clinics, emergency room consults, and urgent care consults, both at University and Veterans Hospital.

Telemedicine Clinics

The The Department of Dermatology is proud to have one of the most experienced live interactive teledermatology clinics in the United States. Through the use of the latest telecommunications technology, we are able to see and treat patients in distant Missouri counties who would otherwise be unable to receive a dermatologist's care. These clinics operate weekly under the direction of Karen Edison, MD. For more information, please contact Kay at 573-884-6525.
