Home Health

The home health program provides traditional home health services including skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work, and home health aide to clients over the age of 16 in six counties: Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cooper, Howard and Randolph. Home health care services are usually for acute episodes of illness and are typically time limited.

The payers for this program include Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Insurances. Currently, Sinclair Home Care is contracted with United Healthcare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, First Health, MultiPlan, and Mercy. MU Sinclair Home Care continues to work with the University of Missouri Health Care to be added to additional insurance contracts.

Private Pay

All of the home care services are available via private pay. The services which are used the most include medication management and home health aide services.

Medication Management

Skilled Nursing Services at Sinclair Home CareSinclair Home Care can administer medications or set up medication planners/dispensers including the iMD.2 medication dispensing machine to help clients remember to take medications. Sinclair Home Care staff assess how the medications are working and work with the clients and their families to determine the best method to help clients remember to take their medications.

Home Health Aide

Home Health Aide services are delivered under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed therapist. You and your nurse/therapist will develop the plan of care to be followed by your home health aide. Typical duties include assistance with bathing/showering, shampooing your hair, dressing/undressing, grooming, changing bed linens, and assistance with other activities of daily living.

Aging in Place

A major goal of Aging in Place (AIP) is to develop a new approach for long term care services for on-going assessment, early illness recognition, health promotion activities, and services designed to meet individual needs when the person needs them in the privacy of their own apartment. It is the goal of the program to help older people stay healthier and active longer, avoid expensive and debilitating hospitalizations, and for most residents, avoid relocation to a nursing home.
