MU joint specialist provides information on hip and knee arthritis Bal will present the latest information patients should know about hip and knee replacement surgery, and discuss computer navigation technology, minimally invasive surgery, hip resurfacing, early detection and treatment of hip arthritis in young adults and patient expectations. He served as a resident physician at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and completed fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard University. As an MU joint replacement specialist, his clinical interests include ceramic bearing surfaces in total hip and knee replacements, and he is currently conducting research in new materials used in implants and the molecular causes of osteoarthritis.
