Faith The Dog To Visit MU Children's Hospital
COLUMBIA, Mo. ― Celebrity canine Faith the Dog will visit MU Children’s Hospital patients from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 4, in Women’s and Children’s Hospital’s Health Pavilion, located at 404 N. Keene St.
Featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and described as one of Oprah’s all-time favorite stories of hope, Faith was rescued as a puppy after being born with two severely deformed front legs. At first only able to move by dragging herself along the ground, Faith learned how to balance and walk on her two hind legs like a human.
“Faith’s story is one of hope and love,” said Angela Ball, child life coordinator at Children’s Hospital. “Seeing her is a demonstration of what perseverance looks like. It’s an inspirational message about overcoming obstacles, and we want to share her story with our patients and their families.”
Children’s Hospital patients and family members will get to visit with Faith the Dog and hear her remarkable story from her owner, Jude Stringfellow, of Oklahoma City.
“It’s amazing to me how many people have been touched by Faith’s story,” Ball said. “I think it will be a great event for our patients and their families.
