Butkievich Voted President-Elect of State Pharmacist Society
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Laura Butkievich, Pharm.D., system pharmacy clinical coordinator for University of Missouri Health Care, has been voted president-elect of the Missouri Society of Health-System Pharmacists (MSHP). Butkievich will be sworn into office at the MSHP spring meeting on March 21 in St. Charles. She will serve one year as president-elect followed by one year as president.

“I am very honored and excited to be elected as MSHP president-elect,” said Butkievich, who also serves as the PGY1 pharmacy residency program director for MU Health Care. “I look forward to continuing to work with the society to promote the safe use of medications within health systems throughout the state of Missouri.”
Butkievich has served in a variety of positions with MSHP since 2006, and she has been a member of the MSHP board of directors since 2010. She currently serves as the society’s secretary and as a public policy committee member, where she works on issues such as establishing a Missouri Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, pharmacy technician training and sterile IV medication compounding regulations.
The mission of MSHP is to provide education, leadership and advocacy to support its more than 300 members in helping people make the best use of medications.
