Community Calendar: Ellis Fischel Event Celebrates Cancer Survivors

What: As part of National Cancer Survivor Month in June, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center will honor those who are living with or have had cancer. The free, family friendly event will include outdoor games and activities, a photo booth, tours of the mobile mammography van, refreshments and gifts for survivors.

Why: According to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, more than 7 percent of Missouri adults are living with a form of cancer other than skin cancer.

Who: The event is open to those who are living with or have had cancer, and their caregivers, families and loved ones, regardless of where they received treatment.

When: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25

Where: The celebration will be held on the lawn in front of Ellis Fischel Cancer Center’s east entrance at One Hospital Drive.

Free parking is available at the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage. From Hospital Drive, take Hitt Street or Virginia Avenue north to enter the parking garage. From the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage, proceed south toward Ellis Fischel Cancer Center.
