Community Calendar: Free Stroke-Risk Screenings Available During American Stroke Month
As part of American Stroke Month in May, specialists from University of Missouri Health Care will offer free stroke-risk assessment screenings. A screening consists of a blood pressure check, as well as a discussion of the unique risk factors associated with the disease. These risk factors can include smoking, an irregular heartbeat, high cholesterol, diabetes, diet and a family history of stroke. Each screening takes approximately 15 minutes. Appointments are not required.
Screenings are available for men and women ages 18 and older.
