Free Seminar Focuses on Preventing Injuries in Young Athletes

Missouri Orthopaedic Institute’s Knowledge Now Seminar Series

Knowledge Now - Injury prevention in the youth athlete

The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute will sponsor a free seminar about preventing injuries in adolescent and high school athletes from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in the institute’s fourth-floor conference room at 1100 Virginia Ave. in Columbia.

The seminar, “Injury Prevention in the Youth Athlete,” will be presented by Seth Sherman, MD, an assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine, and Aaron Gray, MD, an assistant professor of family and community medicine and orthopaedic surgery. Sherman and Gray specialize in sports medicine and the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries.

Sherman and Gray will discuss prevention of acute and overuse injuries related to muscles, connective tissues and joints.
