Missouri Orthopaedic Institute to Host Seminar on Shoulder Pain
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute will host a free seminar about shoulder pain from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, in the institute’s fourth-floor conference room at 1100 Virginia Ave. in Columbia.
The seminar, “The Reconstructed Shoulder: Options for a Full Range of Motion,” will be presented by shoulder specialist Matt Smith, M.D., an MU Health Care orthopaedic surgeon and assistant professor of orthopaedic surgery at the MU School of Medicine.
Smith will discuss causes of shoulder pain, non-operative and surgical treatments, options for types of shoulder joint replacement and information about what to expect for rehabilitation and recovery times.
