MU Children's Hospital Patients Share Their Stories During Annual Children's Miracle Network Radiothon

The 10th annual Missouri Credit Union "Miracles for Kids" radiothon is Thursday-Friday, March 17-18.

Children have a way of telling stories like no adult can, and it's these stories from MU Children's Hospital patients that help everyone to believe in miracles.

Every story is different, but each one includes a team of miracle makers ― from MU Children's Hospital doctors, nurses and staff to patients, their parents and the entire community.

Patients and their families will share their inspiring stories of health and healing during the 10th annual Missouri Credit Union "Miracles for Kids" radiothon on Thursday-Friday, March 17-18, at MU Women's and Children's Hospital, 404 Keene St.

MU Children's Hospital is teaming up with Children's Miracle Network, the Missouri Credit Union and Zimmer Radio Group to host the annual fundraiser. Local Zimmer radio stations 93.9 FM The Eagle, 94.3 FM KAT Country, 99.3 FM Clear 99 and 106.9 FM Y107 will broadcast live from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days in the lobby of Children's Hospital.

All of the money raised during this radiothon stays in mid-Missouri to help local children.

"Technology is constantly changing and advancing, and that technology is leading to better equipment to help us to diagnose and treat younger patients," said Timothy Fete, MD, medical director of Children's Hospital, chair of the MU School of Medicine's Department of Child Health and Children's Miracle Network Professor in Pediatrics. "It also helps in the child’s recovery ― an important piece of the puzzle to help our patients who are battling a wide range of illnesses and injuries. The money raised supports purchases of latest technology and also funds various programs used in patient care throughout MU Children's Hospital. It is efforts like this radiothon that show how our community comes together to have a big effect on the lives of our smallest patients."
