Community Calendar: MU Gymnastics ‘Pink Out’ to Benefit Ellis Fischel Breast Cancer Programs
Ellis Fischel Cancer Center is teaming up with the University of Missouri women’s gymnastics team to support breast cancer programs and awareness at the 2016 Pink Out meet. Tickets cost $5 for adults and $3 for children. For every ticket sold, $1 will be donated to Ellis Fischel. Proceeds from a Mizzou gymnastics apparel sale during the meet also will benefit Ellis Fischel breast cancer programs. The first 500 fans in attendance will receive a free T-shirt and pink glow-in-the-dark necklace.
MU gymnasts will don pink leotards to promote breast cancer awareness as they compete against the University of Georgia. Breast cancer survivors are invited to take part in a recognition of survivors during the meet. Survivors can contact Michael Gett, assistant director of marketing for Mizzou Athletics, to receive a voucher for free entry to the meet. Gett can be reached at (573) 884-7238 or email@example.com.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22. Pre-meet activities begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the meet at 7 p.m.
