MU Health Care, Hy-Vee to Offer Health Screenings, Healthy Cooking Demonstration for National Heart Month
COLUMBIA, Mo. - In recognition of February as National Heart Month, University of Missouri Health Care is partnering with the Rock Bridge Hy-Vee in Columbia to provide heart-healthy screenings and cooking demonstrations.
The heart-health screenings will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22. They will include fasting cholesterol, lung function, blood pressure and body mass index. Cardiologist Mary Dohrmann, M.D., will join Hy-Vee dietitian Paula Vandelicht, R.D., L.D., for a heart-healthy cooking demonstration and tasting from noon to 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24.
