Missouri Orthopaedic Institute Sponsoring Free Seminar on Musculoskeletal Pain During Pregnancy
COLUMBIA, Mo. — The Missouri Orthopaedic Institute will sponsor a free seminar about musculoskeletal pain during pregnancy from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, in the institute’s fourth-floor conference room at 1100 Virginia Ave. in Columbia.
The Knowledge Now seminar, “You Don’t Have to Hurt When You Are Pregnant: Treating and Eliminating Musculoskeletal Pain,” will be presented by Sarah Hwang, MD, a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at MU Health Care and an assistant professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at the MU School of Medicine, and Jennifer Stone, PT, DPT, OCS, clinical supervisor of rehabilitation services at Mizzou Therapy Services-Rangeline.
Hwang and Stone will discuss symptoms associated with musculoskeletal pain that often occur during pregnancy, and different types of therapies that can help alleviate pain.
