Meals

Columbia Regional Hospital has a beautiful physicians-only lounge that provides excellent hot meals for residents and faculty. The breakfast buffet includes hot eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, French toast, etc. The lunch buffet frequently serves half rack of Bar-B-Q baby back ribs, fried catfish, shrimp scampi, lasagna, stuffed pork chops, chicken strips, etc. Fresh brewed coffee in thermos containers is available around the clock, as is a refrigerator and freezer full of salads, sodas and frozen treats…

Malpractice Insurance

Malpractice insurance is provided at no cost to residents for activities associated with the residency program.

Medical and Dental Insurance

Individual or family policies are available to residents at relatively low cost through the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Disability and Life Insurance

Basic disability and life insurance are provided to residents for free with more benefits available at low cost.

Professional Fund

A departmental fund provides money to help defray professional expenses during their residency.

Core Textbooks

The Department pays for three current core textbooks (Obstetrics–Gabbe, REI–Speroff, and Gyn Onc–Desai)—a $300–$400 bonus.

Awards

At the end of each year, the Department gives generous monetary awards for best performance on the CREOG exam and best resident research.

Miscellaneous

Residents also receive staff rates to University of Missouri’s cultural and sports events, access to student facilities including gym, and a discount at University Bookstore including the TigerTech computer store.
