Dr. Amolak Singh has more than 40 years of experience in academic nuclear medicine. He sees patients of all ages who typically have coronary artery disease or cancer. Dr. Singh has helped establish state-of-the-art nuclear medicine services at MU Health Care and provided a full spectrum of nuclear medicine procedures for patients. His clinical expertise includes all areas of nuclear medicine including SPECT/CT, PET/CT, radionuclide therapy, nuclear cardiology, Cardiac CT, and Bone Densitometry.

Research Profile

Dr. Singh has numerous publications in a variety of fields in nuclear medicine. His most noteworthy research and publications relate to therapeutic applications of Sm-153 EDTMP in bone cancer and radionuclide techniques and applications in the gastrointestinal system. He was instrumental in taking Sm-153 EDTMP from bench research to the clinical arena at MU Health Care. His pharmacokinetics study of Sm-153 EDTMP in humans with bone cancer documented suitability of Sm-153 EDTMP as a potential therapeutic agent for metastatic bone pain. His subsequent work in patients with metastatic bone cancer investigated a dose that might be effective for cancer-related bone pain palliation. He has served as a co-investigator on 29 research grants and has nearly 200 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and other scientific presentations. He has been frequently invited to speak at national and international professional and scientific conferences.
