Our nephrology team specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease by regulating blood pressure, regulating electrolytes, balancing fluids in the body and administering dialysis. The division is nationally and internationally recognized for its excellence in the areas of teaching, patient care and research. Appointments

If your primary problem is renal related, and you wish to schedule an appointment at the Medicine Specialty Clinic at University Physicians Medical Building:

Please call 573-882-8788, select option 1. Schedulers are available to take your call between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Medicine Specialty Clinic is located on the first floor of the University Physicians Medical Building at 1020 Hitt Street (map).Complimentary valet parking is available in the circle drive at the front entrance.

Information to have available when you call for an appointment:

  • Primary renal problem - This is the major reason you are requesting the appointment.
  • Other medical conditions - Be prepared to list any other medical problems that you have had.
  • Prior medical evaluation - You may be asked about recent examinations or tests. This information helps decide on the best type of appointment for your situation. You may be asked to have this information available at the time of your appointment.
  • Primary care or referring physician - Your physician's name/office location
