MU's Comprehensive Stroke program is a new multi-disciplinary approach for treating any types of strokes or stroke related illnesses. "TIME LOSS IS BRAIN LOSS" for any stroke victim. Our comprehensive program allows us to provide care timely, efficiently and strives for the best outcome for the patient. In addition to having several key clinical programs on site, 24/7, with the most current, state of the art protocols and equipment for treatment, we offer many ancillary clinical and non-clinical services to patients and their families during the hospital stay under one facility.

University of Missouri Health System has assembled multidisciplinary stroke team in order to provide comprehensive stroke care to our patients from acute stroke presentation to rehabilitation. MU's stroke program was rated "Gold Plus With Honor Roll" by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for 2014.

Conditions we treat include:

  • Cerebral aneursym
  • Arterial venus malformation
  • Cavernous Angioma
  • Intracerebral hemorrhage

The Missouri Stroke Program has been certified as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center by The Joint Commission.       

The Missouri Stroke Program has received the Stroke Gold Plus Performance Achievement Award from Get With The Guidelines®, a hospital-based quality improvement program developed by the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association.

The Missouri Stroke Program has also been named to the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association’s Target: Stroke Honor Roll.


The Missouri Epilepsy Program is recognized by the National Association of Epilepsy Center as a Level 4 epilepsy center.
