Orthopaedic Trauma

Our orthopaedic trauma team is a key component of the trauma team at University Hospital’s Frank L. Mitchell Jr., MD, Trauma Center. The surgeons provide care for patients with fractures, dislocations and severe soft tissue injuries. The most common orthopaedic trauma injuries include femoral and tibial shaft fractures, acetabular and pelvic fractures, spinal injuries and injuries to extremities such as the foot and hand.

The orthopaedic trauma team works closely with fellow orthopaedic specialists and physicians from other disciplines to ensure the highest quality of care. The physicians also train future health care providers while conducting important research to improve clinical care.
