Health Care Providers

Boyd Terry, M.D.The medical professionals at the George David Peak Memorial Burn Center at University Hospital would like to help fellow professionals give the best care possible to patients with severe burns.

Affiliated with the only Level I Trauma Center in central Missouri, the Peak Burn Center serves as a resource, providing information support and immediate specialized burn care and assistance to medical professionals and their patients throughout the region. If necessary, we can provide ground or helicopter transport to our facility.

University Hospital’s Peak Burn Center is one of only five burn units in the state and the recognized authority in new burn care techniques and research. The Peak Burn Center provides a full range of patient care services and works closely with other parts of the hospital, such as its dedicated emergency operating room, which has trauma surgeons available 24 hours a day and 365 days a year and a staff specially trained to work with pediatric patients.

Admittance to the Burn Center

The Burn Center admits any patients who are in need of specialized care. For more detailed information, please consult the referral guidelines established by the American Burn Association and the American College of Surgeons.
