The use of home hemodialysis is at last beginning to increase in the USA. This timely program brings together representatives from successful home hemodialysis programs in Australia, the USA and other countries to explain their success and to discuss how to maximize the use of home hemodialysis in the near future.The last several years have seen a revival of interest in this modality for several reasons, some of which include:
- the major patient benefits now widely reported,
- the interest in more frequent hemodialysis,
- the development of more patient-friendly equipment, and
- the significant cost advantages that accompany home hemodialysis.
The meeting is open to physicians, nurses, social workers, patients, the dialysis industry, manufacturers, administrators and funding agency representatives and others interested in the future of home hemodialysis.
