Breast Cancer

The breast cancer service at Ellis Fischel provides state-of-the-art facilities for the diagnosis of breast cancer. Ultrasound guided breast biopsy and stereotactic breast biopsy are available. Surgical options for breast cancer include partial mastectomy, complete mastectomy and breast reconstruction using advanced tissue transfer techniques. Ellis Fischel also is participating in a national trial to evaluate sentinel node biopsy techniques in the management of breast cancer. Ellis Fischel also brings the latest advances in radiation therapy for conserving breast tissue and in chemotherapy for breast cancer. In addition to therapy, the cancer center offers genetic counseling for those who may have a hereditary form of breast cancer. This includes counseling and evaluation of family history.
