Choma accepted into orthopaedic association
Theodore Choma, M.D., an orthopaedic surgeon at University of Missouri Health Care, has been accepted as a member of the American Orthopaedic Association.
Membership in the association signifies honor and accomplishment in orthopaedics, as well as the beginning of commitment to active leadership in the specialty. Members work to expand an already prestigious list of contributions that benefit the entire orthopaedic community.
Choma, director of the Missouri Spine Center in Columbia, Mo., is an active-duty veteran of the U.S. Army. While serving his country overseas, he was named U.S. Army-Europe Flight Surgeon of the Year for 1995 and has served as the treasurer of the Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has also received several decorations for his service, including the Meritorious Service Medal and the Army Commendation Medal.
A native of Elmwood Park, N.J., Choma now resides in Columbia with his wife, Gina, and three children.
The American Orthopaedic Association, founded in 1887, is the oldest national orthopaedic association in the world. The mission of the organization is to identify, develop, engage and recognize leadership to further the art and science of orthopaedics.

Other affiliates of the health system include Rusk Rehabilitation Center in Columbia, Mo.; Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City, Mo.; and Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville, Mo.
