Our drive-thru testing location will be open 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 24 and closed Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day.

Information about testing

In order to be tested, patients will first need to be assessed by a doctor to receive a doctor’s order. We are currently unable to test patients without a doctor’s order.

When you should be assessed for COVID-19

  • If you’re experiencing mild symptoms consistent with COVID-19, including fever and cough, you can be assessed. (Other symptoms might include chills, shortness of breath, muscle pain, headache, sore throat and loss of taste or smell. Learn more)

How you can be assessed

  • Choose the “COVID-19 Video Visit” option at muhealthvideovisits.org. This video visit assessment is free.
  • Contact your primary care provider. This visit would be billed like any other doctor visit.

Once you have a doctor’s order

  • You can come to the MU Health Care drive-thru testing center in the MU softball stadium parking lot. View map.
  • For Memorial Day weekend, the site will be open 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, May 24, and closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.
  • The drive-thru will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday, May 26. Regular hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday.

If you have severe symptoms

Patients suffering severe symptoms, including difficulty breathing, should call ahead to the Emergency Department before arriving to ensure health care staff can prepare for the individual’s arrival.

How much does testing cost?

The charge for a COVID-19 lab test is $150. If you have insurance, that company will be billed. At this time, there is no co-pay or co-insurance. If you do not have insurance, there is no charge.

Where is the drive-thru testing site?

The testing site is in the MU softball stadium parking lot. Enter via Mick Deaver Memorial Drive, off Stadium Boulevard.
