Parking at all MU Health Care facilities is free. At our Columbia hospital campus, parking is available in three main garages: Patient and Visitor Garage, or Garage A, Parking Structure 7 or Garage B, and Tiger Avenue Parking Structure. Shuttle service is available from Garage B for easy access to all of our facilities, and Garages A and B are equipped with automatic light indicators to guide you to the nearest open parking spot.
Where should I park
Emergency care
For emergency care, adults should park in the University Hospital ER lot, on Hospital Drive between Monk Drive and Dean's Drive.
Children should go to our Children's ER on the west side of the hospital campus, with parking spots reserved in Tiger Avenue Parking Structure.
Missouri Psychiatric Center
Patients and visitors going to the Missouri Psychiatric Center should park in Tiger Avenue Parking Structure.
University Hospital, Ellis Fischel, Children's Hospital, Hitt Street Medical Building
For patients and visitors at University Hospital, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, Children's Hospital or Hitt Street Medical Building, park in the Patient and Visitor Garage (Garage A) or the west side of Parking Structure 7 (Garage B). Please follow directional signage and refer to the map on this page. Parking shuttles run from Parking Structure 7 (Garage B) to the main hospital campus every 10 minutes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Patient and Visitor Garage (Garage A) has a clearance height of 7 feet, 8 inches.
Missouri Orthopaedic Institute
For appointments at the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute, park in Parking Structure 7 (Garage B). A second story enclosed pedestrian bridge is wheelchair accessible.
Shuttle services
A courtesy shuttle is available to take patients and visitors from Garage B to appointments at University Hospital, the Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and Hitt Street Medical Building. The shuttles run every 10 minutes Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., with hours subject to change. To account for travel times, please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment if you plan to take a shuttle.
- Please enter Garage B from either Hospital Drive or Virginia Avenue and park on the first two floors of the west side of the garage. Wait by your car, and a marked MU Health Care van will meet you.
- ADA-compliant shuttles with wheelchair access are available.
- Shuttles pass through every 10 minutes, and return shuttles are available when you exit University Hospital, Missouri Orthopaedic Institute and UPMB.
- Drop offs and pickups at the University Hospital Emergency Department entrance are done upon request only.
