About
Tracy Crnic, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist with additional fellowship training to diagnose and treat eye conditions in kids. She has more than two decades of experience caring for children with a variety of eye problems. Dr. Crnic treats eyes that are not aligned (strabismus, or crossed eyes), visual impairments or difference in the vision of one eye (amblyopia), systemic eye disease (eye problems caused by conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes and autoimmune conditions), developmental disorders of the eye and underdeveloped retina in babies born prematurely, also called retinopathy of prematurity.
Dr. Crnic’s care philosophy is rooted in empathy, compassion and a conservative approach to treatment whenever appropriate. She chose to become a doctor to guide patients through important health decisions with integrity and understanding. Now, she is excited to move closer to her own family and join a family-centered, caring environment that supports vision and ocular development in children.
Outside of work, Dr. Crnic’s hobbies include reading, listening to music, watching movies, playing golf and swimming. She spends time with family and friends whenever possible — her aunts, uncles and cousins live in Kansas City, and her sister and brother-in-law live in Manhattan, Kansas — and while she doesn’t have children of her own, she considers it a joy and privilege to care for and connect with the wonderful children she sees in clinic every day.
