About

Steven R. Allen, MD, FACS, is a trauma surgeon with 15 years of experience caring for people with life-threatening injuries. Dr. Allen holds board certifications in general surgery and surgical critical care. He specializes in the care of severely injured patients, offering surgical care for thoracic trauma, emergency general surgery and placement of extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) life support.

Dr. Allen’s first career choice was to become an elementary school teacher, but realized his desire to teach and love of biology would both translate to medicine too. Dr. Allen provides a caring and friendly atmosphere to relate to each of his patients as if they are a friend or family member. He is excited to join a team and health system that provides world-class care in a close-knit family environment.

Dr. Allen and his wife, Ame, have five grown children who are out of the house, and five dogs and a cat who are hopefully in the house. His hobbies include training for and racing (slowly) half and full Ironman triathlons.
