Abilay Jafarli, MD, is a neurologist who has additional fellowship training in vascular neurology, or disorders of the brain’s blood flow and supply. He offers acute treatment for strokes caused by brain bleeds (intracerebral hemorrhage) as well as blood clots in the brain (ischemic stroke and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis). He also treats cerebrovascular disease and educates patients about stroke prevention.

Dr. Jafarli chose to become a doctor because medicine allows him to combine science, compassion and meaningful human connection to make a difference in the lives of other people. His care style is collaborative and evidence-based, making sure patients and their families understand what is happening so they can take part in decisions and feel heard, respected and supported through their care.

Outside of work, Dr. Jafarli enjoys traveling to new places and learning about technology. He loves spending time with his close, supportive family.

Abilay Jafarli, MD, is a vascular neurologist clinician and researcher who is working to improve acute stroke treatment and prevention through patient care, education and research. His clinical interests include treating ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage and cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.

As a researcher, Dr. Jafarli has experience using ischemic rodent models for basic science studies. His work collaborates with neurosurgery, neurocritical care, neurointerventional radiology, emergency medicine, epidemiology and public health.
