V-safe After-Vaccination Health Checker

V-safe is a smartphone-based tool that uses text messaging and web surveys to provide personalized health check-ins after you receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Through v-safe, you can quickly tell CDC if you have any side effects after getting the COVID-19 vaccine. Depending on your answers, someone from CDC may call to check on you and get more information. V-safe will also remind you to get your second COVID-19 vaccine dose if you need one.

Attire and behavior

When attending your appointment, please:

  • wear short sleeves that are loose fitting.
  • wear comfortable shoes for the walk from the parking lot to the vaccine site – wheelchairs are available for those who may need assistance.
  • follow masking and social distancing guidelines.
  • bring your photo identification.

Vaccine administration

As we continue to monitor our supply of critical PPE, including gloves, we opted to use a barrier bandage to administer COVID-19 vaccine shots so we didn’t need to use gloves that are in demand for patient care. The bandage goes on the injection site after it is sanitized, and the person administering the shot sanitizes his or her hands before and after administering the injection. The bandage re-seals after the injection, which prevents fluids from entering or exiting the injection site. Learn more.
