About
Daniel Peyser, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with additional fellowship training to treat colon cancer, rectal cancer and other conditions of the lower digestive tract such as diverticulitis (an infection in the colon) and inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease). He is also passionate about quality of life for patients after surgery and offers minimally invasive approaches, as well as techniques such as sphincter-preservation surgery for rectal cancer to avoid long-term colostomy and ileostomy.
Dr. Peyser enjoys his practice because of the wide variety of patients and conditions he treats, and the treatments he can offer, which include minimally invasive approaches when appropriate. He tailors his care to the needs of each patient, and his goal is to create a safe environment for patients to discuss sensitive issues. Dr. Peyser is excited to work at an academic health system where his patients have access to the most up-to-date treatments, techniques and research.
Outside of work, Dr. Peyser enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, hiking, history and trivia. He and his partner, a family medicine physician, have three cats and two dogs.
