Ellis Fischel Cancer Center’s team of physician specialists and other trained professionals work together with a common goal: to provide the latest cancer treatments and improve quality of life for thousands of people each year. Named after Dr. Ellis Fischel, a physician who envisioned a statewide plan for controlling cancer, the hospital was dedicated on April 26, 1940, as the first cancer center west of the Mississippi River.
At Ellis Fischel Cancer Center we are dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care, which means we diagnose and treat all types of cancers.

At Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, we believe the best cancer treatment follows a holistic approach. While we employ the latest technology and advances in modern medicine to care for our patients, we also provide a positive, supportive environment for our patients to heal and thrive.
The comforting influence of nature is a key piece that we are incorporating in care at Ellis Fischel. The keystone of our building Ellis is the healing garden. Patients and their families can relax in the garden, listening to the soothing sound of rushing water in fountains, admiring flowers in spring bloom and escaping into a lush environment of verdant trees and bushes.
Located inside the Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, the Mizzou Pharmacy - Ellis Fischel is a full-service retail pharmacy offering first aid supplies, over the counter medicines and prescription drugs. Additionally, the Ellis Fischel pharmacy will proactively work with your insurance company.
