Profile

John Lauriello, MD, has more than 25 years of academic psychiatry experience as a clinician, educator, and researcher. One of his long-term experiences has been in the care and administration of psychiatric clinical services including outpatient, inpatient and emergency services. He spent 10 years as the Executive Medical Director of the University of New Mexico Mental Health Center, which has several large clinics dedicated to the care of the severely mentally ill. Since 2009, he has been the Chair of Psychiatry at the University of Missouri and Executive Medical Director of the University of Missouri Psychiatric Center (MUPC). He oversaw the conversion of an existing state facility to a modern psychiatric center as well as the growth of both adult and child outpatient services. Dr. Lauriello will serve as a senior mentor to the principal investigator and co-investigator of the project.
