MU Health Care System Chief Nursing Executive Shanon Fucik, MBA, RN, will be inducted as a 2026 fellow to the American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL).
The fellow designation recognizes sustained contributions to nursing leadership, commitment to service and influence in shaping health care. Nurse leaders who attain this honor have and will continue to provide their expertise at both regional and national levels through training and mentorship.
“Strong health care organizations are built on strong nursing leadership,” said Ric Ransom, MU Health Care chief executive officer. “Shanon exemplifies the impact nurses have at every level of our system, from shaping patient care at the bedside to guiding strategy across the organization. Her dedication to developing and empowering nurses strengthens our culture and ultimately improves the lives of the patients we serve.”
The AONL is a national organization of more than 12,500 nurse leaders. Since 1967, the organization has provided professional development, advocacy and research to advance nursing leadership practice and patient care.
“It is a privilege to join such a distinguished group of fellows,” Fucik said. “I look forward to exchanging ideas and contributing the experience and insights I have gained at MU Health Care and throughout my career to advance health care delivery and elevate the nursing profession.”
AONL will honor Fucik and the other 18 inductees at its annual conference March 30 in Chicago.
