The main entrance and circle drive at University Hospital in Columbia will close to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning Monday, Aug. 31, due to construction.

During the closure, patients and visitors traveling to University Hospital or Ellis Fischel Cancer Center should use the main entrance of Children’s Hospital. All patient and visitor drop-offs, including shuttle service, will be redirected to this entrance.

Additional staff will be available at the Children’s Hospital entrance to help patients and visitors reach their destinations. Accessibility resources, including wheelchairs, also will be available.

Patients and visitors who park in the attached garage will continue to have access to the hospital lobby. Patient care service at both University Hospital and Ellis Fischel Cancer Center will remain fully operational throughout construction.

Patients and visitors are encouraged to allow extra time to arrive for appointments. Directional signage will be posted throughout the area.

MU Health Care appreciates the community’s patience during this temporary closure. The entrance is expected to reopen by the end of September.
