Story Summary
After retiring from the Army Dental Corps, Gail Ward built a quiet, meaningful life in Warsaw, Missouri, where she could stay close to her aging parents and fill her days with rescue cats, gardening, bird feeding and exercise.
That simple routine also kept her connected to her mother, whose love of flowers lives on in Gail’s garden and even in the rose tattoo on her arm.
For Gail, independence has always been tied to caring for the people and things she loves while remaining rooted in a community that feels like home.
But in March 2025, a devastating car crash and serious ankle injury suddenly put that hard-won independence at risk.
Read more about Gail’s recovery journey and the care that helped her get back to the life she loves.
